INSTRUCTIONS:
Start by opening up the SR-Print-9×9-Basket-Inset.png in your 9×9 basket folder. Choose a digital paper or background and slide it beneath the template and position until you are happy with how it looks.
Save as a jpg.
Now open the SR-Print-9×9-Basket-Handle.png. (I have included both the template and separate PNGs of the handle pieces)
***The 9×9 handle base template is optional, you can just use the leftover cardstock from when you cut out your basket base.
Slide the same digital paper under the Handle inset template (I have used the separate Inset template that’s also included in your file) that you used for the handle inset. Save as a jpg.
Cut out the 8×8″ printed paper using a paper trimmer for straight lines.
Print out both the basket handle inset and the basket template onto light to medium weight matte photo paper or cardstock and pick out a 12×12″ coordinating cardstock for the base of the basket.
Cut your cardstock base down to 9×9″. Save remaining cardstock scrap for the handle.
Now it’s time to glue your patterned 8×8″ inset to the 9×9″ cardstock base, making sure to center it as best you can.

Next score at 3″ intervals both vertically and horizontally so that you have a total of 9 squares.
I use the groove in my paper trimmer to help me score in a straight line.
Now it’s time to cut along the four dashed score lines as shown below.
Scored and cut.
Now fold up the two cut squares inward towards each other.
Handle
Next cut the remaining cardstock scrap to 9×1″.
Cut out the Handle Inset from the printed template.
Center inset on handle base and glue into place.
Glue the handle to the inside (or outside depending on your preference) of the two cut and folded squares.
Next fold the two squares on either side of the cut square in until they are overlapping.
You can either glue them with a strong adhesive or punch a hole and insert a brad to hold them together. Do this on the other side as well.
You can also add ribbon, silk flowers, buttons, or any embellishments to make a unique basket!
Finished basket:
